Taste of New Zealand is here!

Back to Retail Blog

Those of us who are in love with all things ‘food’ are excited that Taste of New Zealand is on this weekend!

Taste of New Zealand is a great event. A great chance to get out and test out restaurants and products that we wouldn’t normally - all at a very reasonable price!

What you need to know about Taste of New Zealand

This is based on personal opinion, but as an avid fan and a ‘multi-visitor’ I thought I’d share with you a few tips on what to expect and how to plan for Taste of New Zealand!

Firstly, remember that the event if on grass. Knowing the Auckland weather there’s a good chance we could see a few spits of rain throughout the event. The field is well drained, so don’t worry about wearing your gumboots, but it will still be damp, so don’t go wearing your suade Jimmy Choos! Do note that although the event is far from being formal, it’s a nice opportunity to dress up a bit. By all means wear jeans, but jazz them up with a nice top or blazer.

Secondly, with most tickets you get 30 crowns to spend. Be ware that they will go pretty quickly if you want to try out a few dishes. Don’t fret though, it’s easy to purchase more! But you can’t refund them at the end, so don’t go crazy. I’d recommend that you buy them in lots of 30 and just go back for more if you need them. Stores selling products, as opposed to food testers, will normally take cash as well - and most will have eftpos facilities available too.

Lastly, 4 hours seems like a short time, but it’s the perfect amount of time to get around to all of the stores and go back to anyone that you want to purchase off as well. It’s a really great outing and I would definitly recommend to everyone!
