Winners announced!
The overall winner on the night was Pinot Noir - taking away a huge 32 gold awards! The varietal has been going strong for a few years in a row now which is great news for New Zealand and proves that our Pinot Noir is staying strong and even improving! Sauvignon blanc and chardonnay came in second equal.
It’s been a few now since the ‘pure gold’ criteria was introduced to identify wines that came from a sustainable source and it’s proving to be very popular. It’s interesting to see that almost all Sav winner were ‘pure gold’ while around 40% off all the winners were pure gold as well.
